Salmon fillets are one of the easiest, fastest proteins to cook for lunch or dinner. A single fillet is great for topping a salad, or serving alongside steamed vegetables and rice.
Follow our fast and easy method, and you’ll end up with salmon that’s perfect inside and out. We’re talking a crisped outer layer of skin, with the middle cooked just to medium rare. Oh, and of course, the fish is infused with the roasted, wonderful flavor of Garlic Gold®!
For today’s tutorial, we’ve taken some tips from J. Kenji López-Alt, kitchen genius and author of The Food Lab: 1. Cook the fish in hot oil, 2. Pat the surface dry, and 3. Press it down as it cooks. If you follow these steps, you’ll end up with perfect fish every time!

How To Cook Perfect Salmon
1. Preheat two tablespoons of Garlic Gold® Oil in a medium or large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, until shimmering and hot.
2. While the oil is preheating, press a salmon fillet between paper towels to remove any moisture from the surface. Salt and pepper it on all sides.
3. Place the salmon fillet in the skillet skin side-down, and turn the heat down to medium-low right away. Cook it for about six minutes on the skin side, using a spatula to press down on the fillet. Flip the fillet, cooking it for one more minute on the second side. Transfer to serving plate and serve immediately.
